Most of the people I know are determined to stay fit and healthy well into their senior years. Wellness is especially important to baby boomers. We don’t like to experience the symptoms of aging. We welcome anything we can to postpone it. So, wellness coaching is right up our alley.
Beyond being a member of the baby boomer generation, I have a far more personal reason for wanting to be healthy. Overall, my extended family could certainly improve its eating habits and has not been a model of longevity. I realized that and tried to overcome it by becoming a vegetarian. However, becoming a vegetarian doesn’t fix all your problems with nutrition or automatically make you a healthier eater. I still had some unhealthy, detrimental eating habits.
Recently, I came back from a big business conference in which I gained inspiration for several fresh business ideas. I was in heaven, until my sister called me and told me my cousin had a massive heart attack. That was a humongous wake-up call.
So, I am all about wellness now. I had resolved to make health concerns a priority, and now I am deeply motivated to do so. Without your health, you cannot implement any of your grandiose plans or desires, so we really should do everything we possibly can to stay healthy.
I remember an incident when I fell down the stairs at my home and twisted three vertebrae in my back. I was in excruciating pain for almost three months. Neither M.D. nor chiropractor could help me. My mind was a sharp as ever, but I could only lie in bed until my body healed itself. It was a horrible, yet transformative experience. So, I know with all my heart and soul how important it is to have your health. It affects everything!
To improve your health and to keep yourself healthy, it’s important that you talk to a wellness coach. No matter what plans or desires you may have, you cannot achieve them if you are not healthy, and a wellness coach can help get you where you want to be.
