Life Coaching – Live Your Life On Purpose.

What is life coaching?

A life coach is a trained individual who helps you move from where you currently are to where you want to be. Do you want to change your life for the better? Maybe you want to change careers, build superior human relationships, improve your health and wellness, etc.

If you’re wondering whether a life coach is really for you, consider a survey conducted by the International Coach Federation. The survey included 210 coaching clients who had been coached for an average of 9 months. Results of the survey showed that 98.5% of respondents believed their coaching sessions were valuable. Another 62% of respondents confided in their coach at least as much as their spouse, best friend or therapist.

Life coaching is great because it isn’t restricted to one area of your life. With a life coach you can improve all aspects of your life, from your relationship with your spouse or significant other to your children and family. You can also work to increase your wealth, improve your health and fitness and anything else you may want to address. Coaching is not therapy or mentoring, nor is it meant to be. Coaches typically deal with people who are already well but want to improve their situation. You already have the answers to solve your problems and improve your life, and your coach will help you find those answers. When thinking about a coach, most people will think of an athletic coach. A life coach isn’t all that different. Just as a gifted athlete has a coach that will help him achieve his goals, people who want to achieve success in their personal or professional lives employ personal, business, leadership, and life coaches.

Therapy is suggested for a person who is already having some difficulty and who may need medical intervention by a physician or another licensed health professional. Mentoring, on the other hand, is the situation in which you want to model your behavior after someone who has already accomplished what you want to achieve.

What to look for in a life coach Look for someone who can provide you with testimonials and case studies which demonstrate their competence and proficiencies. Look for someone who has formal training and some experience in coaching or consulting. Any life coach worthy of the name will provide you with a 15-minute complimentary coaching session so you can both assess whether or not you are a good fit for each other.

Why you should use a life coach?

Life coaching will help you improve your life, health and business. Your life coach is dedicated to you. They will listen to what you have to say and treat you like you are the only person in the world. Everyone could benefit from having someone to talk to about their goals and desires, and your life coach will not only listen to you but will help you achieve those goals.

Some people are reluctant to hire a life coach because they think they can’t afford it. I can certainly understand that. However, once you experience for yourself what a life coach can do for you, you wonder how you ever made it this far without one. If a life coach costs you $300 for a couple of sessions, and as a result of that you can gain additional productivity and profits that lead to $30,000, well, I would say that was money well spent. It’s like buy money at a discount.

People who have worked with life coaches, according to the survey I referenced above, experienced the following outcomes:

67.6% increased self-awareness 62.4% wiser goal-setting 60.5% better balance in their life 57.1% decreased stress levels 52.9% more productive self exploration 52.4% improved self concept 43.3% better quality of life 39.5% improved communication skills 35.7% improved success in project completion 33.8% improved physical state 33.3% improved staff relations 33.3% improved family relationships 31.9% higher energy level 31.9% more fun – 25.7% increased income 25.7% quit an undesirable habit 24.3% switched professions 22.9% increased amount of free time.

Amy Watson, PROfusion Public Relations, conducted the survey, which was designed with assistance from Jackie Rieves Watson, Ph.D., professor of Management and Statistics, Amber University.

How can a life coach help me?

Working with a life coach can benefit you in a number of ways. I will highlight a few of them here, but these are only a few of the many ways in which having a life coach can help you.

A life coach will help you find the answers that you already have within you. You will learn to be more self-aware and to look within yourself for the solutions to any roadblocks that may appear.

Your life coach tries to keep your life more in balance by evaluating decisions more and taking a plan of action to move towards your goals.

Under the guidance of your coach, you will set realistic, success-oriented goals. Because you have internalized your goals and aligned them with your values, you can make smarter decisions and act on them.

You can share your inner-most thoughts and ideas with your coach without fear of being judged. Working in an environment where you are free to speak without being concerned about what others think will build your confidence. The safe environment and the rapport between you and your coach will allow you to overcome any emotional roadblocks to achieving your success.

Your life coach is a trained, active, and empathetic listener. When she asks you powerful questions, you will be inspired by the answers that already lie within you. You can more readily align your strengths, goals and actions so that they are in harmony and so that you can attract more abundance and make more money.

With a life coach you can progress at your own pace. Your coach is trained to have infinite patience.

Your life coach can help you see things from a different perspective, allowing you to “think outside the box” and come up with new and creative ideas.

Your coach will help you achieve success in the fastest, most efficient way possible. He or she will place the focus directly on you, which is where it should be.
