The Network Marketing Junkie, Travel Ventures International and the $10,000 Call
Everyone has them, friends that are home based business network marketing junkies, they have an answer to everything, they are fanatical window shoppers and they always are talking about their goals, i.e. their next yacht, jet and don’t forget the future acquisition of the Bugatti Veyron. I have such a friend who we will call Sid because that is his real name. Sid’s latest deal of the month is a travel venture membership and, once again, we are all going to get mega rich. Throw $250 in the hat and out comes $10,000 worth of bunny rabbits. Just joking, but the pitch once again sounded to good to be true, until I made $10,000 in a few months with Travel Ventures International.
When Sid shows up at my doorstep, out comes the checkbook. You see the sooner I sign up the faster he leaves. Sid has network of about 60 friends who sign up for everything he sells. Sid is a great guy and to me he is a sign of hope, as he is always dreaming and when he shows up all reality vanishes. Sometimes reality is not what it is cracked up to be. I think that is why the network marketing industry is so huge. I had to admit when Sid showed me his latest deal, Travel Ventures International, it had some curb appeal. I saw some immediate value in the 7/6 night vacation and it was tax deductible. The two who get two seemed a little easier than the three that get ten or god forbid the five that get five. Actually the idea of traveling and earning money sounded easy enough and all I had to do was sign up two people.
I learned a saying from Harv Eker that says “would you rather be rich or would you rather be right?” and I think in life most people would rather be right than rich. In the case of Sid, he would rather be rich than right. For a long time I never understood my insatiable little buddy’s dreams and his desire to be rich, rich rich…but now I do. I think deep down inside I wanted to be rich instead of being right. A few weeks after signing up for Travel Ventures International I recieved an email that said that I had made $500. It looked like my friend was on to something. I had my money back, I had doubled my money and I had a 7/6 night vacation, and do not forget the tax deduction. Is it possible that this could be the winning lottery ticket? Was I on my way to earning $10,000 like Sid said I would.
Two months later, the phone rings and it is Sid again. Now Sid has tried to sign me up for a power deal, a voip deal and a website deal in the last 70 days so I am thinking about avoiding his call this time. Knowing that does not work, I answer it and what Sid says floors me; I have just made $10,000 and recieved a $5,000 European vacation or $5,000 in diamonds. Wow, I am rich and now Sid was right, this was nice for a change. Travel Ventures International now had my full attention and I was off to the races telling everyone about my new fountain of wealth. I caught Sid’s disease, Pyramid-itis.
I guess the moral of the story is this; when you stop dreaming, you start dying. Sid taught me a valubale lesson and that is if your commitment is to only being right, you may never become rich. It seems that the people who run around trying to be right all the time are the ones who are poor, and the dreamers who run around seeking out ways to be rich are the ones who really do get rich. Sid proved to me that changing my paradigm could change my whole life. Travel Ventures International has opened a new world for my family and I. Now we get to travel and earn money. No products to accumulate in our garage, no auto-dump (as I call it) no paying overpriced fees for a website to justify paying commissions. Nope TVI Express was a simple membership with great benefits and a powerful pay plan.
Travel Ventures International provides a product that everyone loves; Travel and Money! I now longer have to attend ridiculous Tuesday and Saturday meetings at some hotel as all my business is done on the internet. I do not have to hang out with a bunch of ‘fake it ’til you make it’ people and I am able to promote a product I believe in. My dreams are coming true because of my network marketing junkie friend Sid. So heed my advice, when opportunity comes knocking you might just want to listen and start dreaming again.
Realizing your dreams takes as much effort as trying to be right all the time, they both take commitment, but the dreamers have more fun. I would rather be rich than right any day of the week. As one of my mentors Dr. Stephen Covey says, “find your voice and help others go find theirs”. I relate this to the same saying “dream again and show others how to dream again”.
